Daxxify, the first significant neurmodulator rival to appear in decades, has been approved by the FDA for treating facial wrinkles in adults, as we have all likely heard by now. The fact that SVIA has been chosen as one of the few practices to test the product with our patients before it becomes widely available in offices in the middle of 2023 fills us with joy.
Here are the top 5 things about Daxxify that you need to know.
Daxxify is a Neuromodulator
By injecting a substance into the underlying muscle, neuromodulators, such as Daxxify and Botox, attempt to minimize the appearance of dynamic lines by causing the tissue to relax and the skin to seem much smoother. The procedure has little downtime, and most patients visit four times annually to preserve the appearance of smoother skin.
Daxxify Results Are Durable
Daxxify’s duration of effectiveness is one way it differs from neuromodulators like Botox and others. Traditional neuromodulators can produce outcomes that endure from three to five months, but most patients see benefits after only three months. In contrast, Daxxify outcomes can persist up to 6 months and occasionally 9 months, requiring fewer follow-up visits.
Daxxify is Powered by Peptides
Human serum albumin—also known as Botox—and other neuromodulators are produced using this substance. Daxxify is produced from peptides or amino acids and does not contain any human or animal ingredients. Daxxify has a longer half-life than other neuromodulators thanks to this ground-breaking peptide power.
Research Backs it Up
Eighty percent of Daxxify users in clinical trials had no or barely perceptible face wrinkles after four months. At six months, about half of the subjects still had few signs of wrinkles, and others still had results at nine months.
Ideal Applicants
Although any patient in our office is welcome to test the product, we would suggest that those who have previously used an injectable might find it more acceptable. We want to make sure you are satisfied with the results of neurmodulators in general before committing for a longer period of time because the results last twice as long.
